I am excited. This is because it is Baseball season. You may not like it but I absolutely LOVE Baseball!
Cerise Spookson was writing a letter to her future self. It was 2:00 AM, but she couldn't sleep. She was much to excited. That was because it was Baseball season. Cerise Spookson absolutely loved baseball. She was good at it to! She played a batter on the school team and the first game of the year was tomorrow! It was Hills Harpies against Skylar Swans!
* * *
It was the next day and Cerise was walking onto the baseball pitch with the rest of her team. She could see, on the other side of the pitch, the Swans- or the snobs as she liked to call them- walking onto the pitch as well. She could hear the commentator, Terence Carter, calling out their names as they walked onto the pitch.
"- And Catcherham! And on the Harpy team: Sarose, Kindlet, Fergson, other Fergson, other other Fergson, wow this team has a lot of Fergsons on it, Leysey, Mandercan, Charnosa and Spookson!"
The Swans in the crowd booed when the Harpy's names were called, especially Cerise's.
Cerise was the only girl on her team, the Swans had no girls on their team. The Harpies always lost to everyone, but Cerise had been practicing this year...
* * *
The Harpies were doing very well so far. Practice pays off! Cerise thought.
"Cerise Spookson is about to win the game! She just needs this homerun! C'mon, Cerise, C'mon!" Terence commentated.
Cerise battered up. The Skylar Swan's pitcher was about to throw her the ball and Cerise was not going to miss it this time.
The pitcher grunted as he threw Cerise the ball. cerise drew back her back and hit the baseball, hard. It flew, and flew, and flew until it was out of the pitch and disappeared from view.
"AND THE HILLS MIDDLE HARPIES WIN!!" Terence cried.
Terence ran out of the commentator's box and onto the pitch to hug Cerise as the crowd erupted with cheers- and boos from the swans.
"We finally beat the Swans!' Terence exclaimed to Cerise.
"And we beat our own record of wins! Two birds, one baseball bat!"
